Persona: Very late period (12/31/1599) Irish woman. I own a tavern on the wharves of Glasgow called the Mermaid’s Song.
What is the inspiration for your piece and why did it appeal to you? I wanted to do something different and get over my fear of figures. I thought the original piece looked cool.
Materials used: Gouache on Bristol board.
What is your favorite medium to work in? Haven’t been doing it long enough to have a favorite yet.
What is a C&I technique that is challenging to you, or not your favorite? Gilding.
What is a piece of advice you would give a new scribe? Just do it. It’s not that scary.
